StableNote Premium

Why Premium is a subscription

Nobody enjoys paying for yet another app. So rather than hide the price, here's what's free, what Premium pays for, and why it's a subscription instead of a one-off price.

Day-to-day care is free

Care records, plans and reminders for up to 3 horses are free, with no time limit and no ads. If you look after one or two horses, the free version may be all you ever need.

What keeps StableNote running

StableNote is more than an app on your phone. Behind it, online services run day and night: they keep your horses in sync between your phone and your caregivers' phones, send reminders on time, store photos safely, make PDF care reports and keep backups.

Those services cost money every month, and the bill grows with every horse, photo and report. Apple also keeps part of every subscription.

Why not ads?

Many free apps pay their way with ads, or by selling what they know about you. That doesn't belong in something as personal as your horse's care. StableNote does not sell your information or use it for advertising. Premium pays for the app, so we work for you, not for advertisers.

Why not a one-time price?

The costs don't stop after a purchase. Servers, storage and reminders run every month, and every new iPhone and iOS version needs updates. A one-time price would mean either a high price up front, or an app nobody looks after within a year or two. A small yearly amount keeps StableNote working and improving for as long as you use it.

What Premium adds

€4.99 a month or €39.99 a year: about €3.33 a month on the yearly plan. New subscribers can try the first month free. Prices in the Netherlands. The App Store shows your final price and whether you can start the free month.

  • Unlimited horses
  • Photos on care records
  • View-only sharing with caregivers
  • Unlimited PDF reports, with photos

If you stop

Cancel anytime in your iPhone's Settings, under your Apple Account. Nothing you entered is deleted when Premium ends: your horses, their history and their photos stay in StableNote. You just can't add a fourth horse, new photos or new caregiver invites until you subscribe again.

Who's behind it

StableNote is built by Karsten Hoekstra, an independent developer, without investors. Your subscription goes straight into keeping the app running, fixing problems and building what horse owners ask for.
